Tracking assets

An asset is anything you track: a pallet, a bin, a piece of equipment, a container. Each one has a current location and a full movement history.

Current location is a projection, not a fact you set

An asset's current location isn't a field you edit directly. It's worked out from its most recent scan or move event. That distinction matters: it means the location you see is always backed by an actual recorded event, not something someone typed in and might have gotten wrong.

One current location, full history

At any moment, an asset is in exactly one place. But that doesn't mean the past is thrown away: every place it's ever been is preserved. See "Movement history" for how that works.
